New Release: Clearing the Web by Cary J Lenehan

clearing the web front cover

IFWG Australia is excited to announce the third instalment of the epic fantasy Warriors of Vhast series by Tasmanian author Cary J Lenehan, ‘Clearing the Web‘. “Cary’s detailed and comprehensive world building shines out as usual,” said Gerry Huntman (Managing Director IFWG), and as the storyline progresses Cary’s work gets better and better. This is a vast project, no pun intended, and we are proud to be publishing it worldwide.”

Kudos to Catherine Archer-Wills for her artwork and design for this, and previous volumes (with earlier design by Elizabeth Lang).

The world book launch for Clearing the Web will be held at:

Amor Bar,
217-219 Elizabeth Street,
North Hobart
at 7pm 29 November 2018

Clearing the Web continues to follow the unfolding events on the distant, artificial world of Vhast. A lost realm, a visit to a nearby Empire, the arrival of foes, and then a dragon test the recently anointed heroes.

Following on from Intimations of Evil and Engaging Evil, the Princess and her mage wife, the Cat, the priest, the ghazi, and the others leave their small newly freed village and set out to uncover the evil infecting The Land. One obstacle after another appears as the evil fights back.

Clearing the Web is the third book of a series that sees reality confronted and a world re-shaped as new myths are created in an epic fantasy adventure.

Clearing the Web will be released in Australia, UK and Europe on 29th November 2018, and in North America January/February 2019 (to be advised).

New Book Signing: The Equinora Chronicles by Paula Boer

We are very pleased to announce the acquisition of the YA novel series, The Equinora Chronicles, by Paula Boer. Paula is one of our first authors, having penned the highly successful Brumbies series, and she returns with her love of horse adventures, but now with a very strong speculative fiction streak. This ticks two major boxes of IFWG’s fields of interest, aside from Boer’s great storytelling ability.

In Book 1 of the series, The Bloodwolf War, Fleet, a young stallion, dreams of running with other horses and building his own herd. But when the guardian unicorns of Equinora abandon their goddess-given roles, bloodwolves rampage the land and Fleet is poisoned.

The Bloodwolf War will be released late in the second quarter of 2019.

New Signing: Drakeforth Series by Paul Mannering

One of the great pleasures for IFWG Publishing over recent years is to tap into the immense talent of New Zealand speculative fiction authors. We started with Jan Goldie, and followed it with Ali Foster and Barbara Howe. We recently acquired the rights to a novel by Kura Carpenter, and we have had a large number of New Zealand authors contribute to anthologies and our ezine, SQ Mag.

One author we have been impressed with for some time is Paul Mannering, based in Wellington. Gerry Huntman, Managing Director, has been to New Zealand a few times and had the pleasure of long discussions on matters of writing and publishing, and was as impressed with his writing, as his insights into the craft. We now solidified this relationship in the form of a publishing agreement.

IFWG publishing has bought the rights to the first two books of the respected, multifaceted Drakeforth Series, ‘Engines of Empathy’ and ‘Pisces of Fate’, and two new books in the series – the third titled ‘Time of Breath’, and the fourth is at the moment untitled. There may be more. A short, series-related fiction piece is included in this acquisition, and will be included with one of the novels.

IFWG considers this acquisition a coup and look forward to distributing it to all major English-speaking geographies. We will be publishing the first two books fairly rapidly in 2018 and then move on to the new titles soon thereafter.
