Book Signing: Contrition by Deborah Sheldon

The festive season deserves another piece of good news!

IFWG Publishing Australia is very pleased to add a third Deborah Sheldon title to its catalogue: Contrition, a horror novel with noir undertones and an atmosphere of mounting dread. (It is actually her fourth title with us – she has signed a contract with us for a new collection of her short fiction, to be released in 2019).

Contrition will be released in mid 2018: more details will be provided in the new year.

Deborah Sheldon

Deborah Sheldon, a professional writer from Melbourne, Australia, writes across the darker spectrum of crime, noir, and horror. Deb’s short stories have appeared in many well-regarded literary magazines and anthologies. Her published fiction includes short story collections, novellas, and novels. Other writing credits include television scripts, feature articles, radio plays, award-winning medical writing, and non-fiction books for Reed Books and Random House.

Deborah has published a two-novella crime thriller with IFWG Publishing Australia (Dark Waters / Ronnie and Rita) as well as a dark fiction collection, Perfect Little Stitches and Other Stories.

New Release: Cthulhu Deep Down Under Volume 1

CDDU1 full spread

It is with great pleasure that we announce the Australian release of Cthulhu Deep Down Under Volume 1, edited by Steve Proposch, Christopher Sequiera, and Bryce Stevens. It is the third title under our ‘Dark Phases’ title series, and the first of three volumes of Australian Lovecraftian short fiction.

The cover artwork and design is by Steve Santiago, no stranger to Mythos art, and who will also be doing the honours in Vols 2 and 3, which will be published in 2018 and 2019 respectively. We also have two fine internal pieces by Sarah Ellerton and the late, and great, Lindsay C. Walker (who we have dedicated this anthology to).

The Table of Contents is as follows:

Introduction by Ramsey Campbell
A Pearl Beyond Price by Janeen Webb
Haunting Matilda by Dmetri Kakmi
Wife to Mr Lovecraft by Lucy Sussex
Darkness Beyond by Jason Franks
The Diesel Pool by Kaaron Warren
Dreamgirl by Stephen Dedman
The Thing In the Bidet by William Tevelain
The Return Of… by Christopher Sequeira
The Elder Things by B. Michael Radburn
Vanguard by Aaron Sterns

We are just as excited to publish other great Australian writers in our later volumes.

Cthulhu Deep Down Under Volume 1 should be available from all fine bricks and mortar, and online, bookstores – ask for it if they haven’t got it on their shelves. The anthology will be released in North America on the 1st December this year.

Stay tuned for news about the formal book launch early next year, which will be in Melbourne, where many of its authors reside.

Cover Reveal: Cthulhu Deep Down Under Volume 1

New Signing: Remains by Andrew Cull

IFWG Australia is very pleased to announce acquisition of Andrew Cull’s horror novel, Remains, described best by one of our submission editors as “creepy as hell”. And creepy as hell it is, which is a major reason why it will be published in the latter half of 2018, aside from its well-crafted narrative.

We are pleased to close our imprint’s 2018 scheduled catalogue of titles with this dark piece, rounding the year nicely.

Andrew Cull

Andrew Cull is a writer and feature director. He wrote and directed the horror hit ‘The Possession of David O’Reilly’. He’s also credited with creating the first YouTube horror series (the Louise Paxton disappearance). Andrew has written for film, television and video games. He writes realistic, character driven horror that promotes suspense over gore

New Signing: Dark Fiction Collection by Deborah Sheldon

IFWG Australia is pleased to announce the acquisition of a collection of 33 short stories by Deborah Sheldon, to be published in Q3 2018. The collection has no title at this stage.

Deborah Sheldon

“I’m excited by this project,” stated Gerry Huntman, Managing Director of the publishing house, “because we have Deborah’s latest fiction collected in ‘Perfect Little Stitches and Other Stories’, and this acquisition distills the very best of her earlier dark fiction. We also decided to add a bonus two original pieces. We have an amazing relationship with Deborah and it makes perfect sense to publish the complete continuum of her dark fiction for reader enjoyment.”

More details of this collection will be forthcoming in early 2018.
